I have no idea where the time has gone, but I swear I just posted and was excited about it being November....so I don't even know where to start!
Thanksgiving went well..Alex's family came to Texas and we were completely stumped on what to do with them, except we knew exactly where we wanted to take them for food! Actually, it seems as if the entire few days only consisted of food. The places that topped our list of places we wanted them to try were Rosa's Tortilla Factory (they don't have good Mexican in NY and they like Taco Cabana, so this is obviously WAY better!!), La Hacienda (good Mexican with some Texas flavor), Kenny's Burger Joint (seriously the best burgers ever..and great fried pickles!), and Babe's Chicken Dinner House (which was a big hit!), and Sonny Bryan's for BBQ for their last meal in Texas. We also, of course, had Thanksgiving dinner before going to the Dallas Cowboys game. I think they left here full and happy! Well, that is how I felt anyways. :)
We also got the chance to go to New York and visit them the second weekend in December. We took the kids and had a great time! We mostly relaxed, but we did get to go into the city for one day. The kids really wanted to go to "the big toy store" (FAO Schwarz) where Bryden made his own muppet and Aeson got a toy helicopter. They also really wanted to see the big tree at Rockefellar Center.
We then went to eat at Patsy's, which has great calzones! Aeson fell asleep on our way to dinner and I don't think he woke up until we were on our way back to the house. This is very unlike him for those of you that know my children well....
On the last night of our trip, Alex's mom really wanted Alex to go to a local Italian market and so we went. Alex really enjoyed it and of course we wound up buying entirely too much food to make for dinner, but not before the kids had a chance to eat some gelato.
Is anyone else getting hungry reading this post? Because I definitely am! Maybe we should do a food blog....
After New York, we came back home and I have been busy finishing up our Christmas shopping. The kids had pretty easy Santa lists this year, with the exception of Aeson's red mercedes (which Target has, but it is the tiniest ride on car ever) and Bryden wants a "real boy kitchen that you can actually make food in" (If anyone knows if that exists, please let me know! He asks for that every year!)
We have also been busy trying to get our photography business under way...I will not discuss that too much since I have a separate photography blog for that, but I just have to say that I am super excited about after the Holidays to really try and market ourselves. I really have faith in this and we have had pretty good feedback so far! With that being said, if anyone needs some photos done please consider us!! We will do family photography, newborns, maternity, engagements, pets, food...whatever you need! :)
I can't believe that Christmas is only a few days away! I can't wait! I love having little kids during the holidays. They truly seem to make Christmas "magical" again..similar to the feeling I had when I was little.
Happy Holidays everyone!!
